In the heart of the leafy and very trendy Notting Hill, a home underwent a full-scale transformation, with the kitchen emerging as a true masterpiece of luxury and authenticity. The client envisioned a space that seamlessly blended opulence with originality, a kitchen design that was not only functional but also a statement of refined taste. To achieve this, the design studio meticulously prepared a plan, starting with a foundational layout and evolving it into a space that embodied elegance and craftsmanship.
Once the layout was established, elevations were carefully drafted to ensure every element was positioned with precision. The client’s vision required a space where luxury met artistry, and as part of that process, an extensive range of tile and marble floor design layouts were presented. From intricate patterns to bold statements and more subtle combinations, each option was evaluated with careful consideration. One of the primary focuses was the floor, where colour selection played a crucial role in achieving the desired aesthetic and after much deliberation, a geometric arrangement was chosen, incorporating three distinct marble hues—brown, black, and white. This bespoke marble floor design served as the foundation upon which the rest of the kitchen’s grandeur was built.
A defining feature of the kitchen was the island, an exquisite centre piece finished in a gold liquid metal coating. Its surface was adorned with a polished Calacatta Oro top, complementing the other countertops while reinforcing the overarching theme of sophistication. The combination of textures and materials was carefully curated to create a kitchen design that was both visually striking and highly functional. The cabinetry further amplified the luxurious atmosphere, with the wall units at a lower level crafted from high gloss grey eucalyptus. Meanwhile, the tall units incorporated bronze trims and bevelled mirrors, reflecting light and adding depth to the space. This high gloss cabinetry contributed to the kitchen’s rich palette, balancing modernity with classic refinement.
To enhance the culinary experience, the range was sourced from Officino Gullo in Italy, a brand synonymous with impeccable craftsmanship and innovation. Positioned under a breath-taking skylight that stretched across the length of the room, the kitchen basked in natural light, further accentuating its stunning details. Beneath this architectural feature, a floral wall covering from de Gournay brought an artistic flourish to the space, seamlessly blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary luxury.
The final outcome was a kitchen that exceeded expectations, embodying the client’s desire for authenticity and grandeur. Every material, from the bespoke marble floor design to the reflective surfaces, contributed to a cohesive and harmonious aesthetic. The interplay of textures, finishes, and colours established an environment that was not only aesthetically extraordinary but also a joy to inhabit. The result was more than just a kitchen—it was a carefully composed space where design and function coexisted in perfect harmony. With elements like the gold kitchen island, Calacatta Oro countertops, and meticulously curated cabinetry, this Notting Hill residence now boasts a kitchen of outstanding luxury and craftsmanship.
