Japanese Vanity

This shower room design formed part of a guest suite at our project Modern Farmhouse.  The bedroom featured a very colourful wall covering showing Geisha in full traditional costume and we wanted to naturally extend the concept into the shower room.  As part of the theme we designed a Japanese inspired vanity unit that incorporated bronze eastern style taps and a ‘zen’ basin for authenticity.  The top and back splash was in Breccia Capraia marble, capturing some of the mystical elements of the space.  The carcass was in a straight grain coniferous timber favoured in the making of the Shoji screens, which we also mimicked in the doors which were inlayed with a Japanese paper wall covering
