Gold Powder Room

This fauna inspired gold powder room is based on the Secession building in Vienna, which features a golden dome decorated with laurel leaves.  This Art Nouveau exhibition building was constructed in 1897/98 by Joseph Maria Olbriach, a student of Otto Wagner and is one of the most famous structures in Vienna and has the Beethoven Frieze, which was created by Gustav Klimt in 1902, on permanent display on the lower level. This very special space is but one of several unique spaces in this much larger project that was created by the team at London’s best interior design studio René Dekker Design.  The bas relief plant design was used in a stylistic manner around the lower section of the upper half of the entire room.  A series of flowers and leaves start blossoming at low level steadily becoming more and more dense as well as getting more bas relief as they go higher until they literally ‘break free’ and become three dimensional.  The creative team at London’s top specialist decorating firm DKT created a stylised set of flowers and leaves to sit within the light trough providing a magical illuminated experience while n the throne!

At low level we had a dark timber panelling that enhanced the bespoke black and gold vanity unit with its gold taps and hand beaten gold basin.  To finish this off, we added exquisite crystal wall lights from Windfall GMBH in Germany, and a beautiful round cut glass mirror.
