Belsize Park Master Bedroom

This wonderful project, a beautiful Edwardian house on a tree-lined street in Belsize Park, is any designer’s ultimate dream!  A full refurbishment over 5 floors and almost four thousand square feet, HEAVEN!  Each area or room received a focused and considered approach to at once ensure spaces felt authentic and unique yet followed a subtle design thread which pulled the house together in a unified and exciting way.

As one of London’s best interior design studios, René Dekker Design appreciates and excels in providing interiors that not only stand apart from other designers but honestly embracing the client’s visions.  Achieving the correct balance of textures, colour, pattern and design is a skilled honed by the creative director over his 36 year career and this home is a culmination of all that has been learned.  The master bedroom was already a large room with a centrally located steel fireplace but did not have much pizazz.  We will be stripping out the timber floors, the cornicing and all redundant timber elements and the space will get all new under floor heating, new electrics, new double glazed windows and an engineered oak plank floor.  

The new master bedroom design will include recessed display/book shelves made of glossy timber with brushed gold details and using a contrast wall covered backing and integrated LED lighting.  There will be new wardrobes in a satin finish colour matched to the display shelving, reflective wall covering throughout and bespoke furniture upholstered in subdued tones with the main shade in teal…the client’s favourite colour.  Curtains and some furniture will present bold pattern, combining the single shades in the other accessory fabrics.  We will hang statement art and include fabulous glass bedside lights to ensure a well-balanced scheme
